The label carries a black on black grid pattern inspired by the walls of the Tanaka Brewery, an example of Kura architecture from the Edo period. The grid is printed as varnishes around the bottle and is sequenced into a series of hexagons, a symbol of aromatic science. Black and white are used because both brands feature these colors, and black bottles are reserved for premium sake. The two names are joined in a cross pattern through a shared letter A.
